This resonates with me on several levels. I only have 1 ex who refuses to speak to me and only lost 1 friend when I came out. I have 1 cousin, my age, whom I have many things in common with. We are largely estranged due to issues our respective parents had as children. I am blessed with so many close friends and family members. Yet, at times I grieve for those "1s" I don't have in my life. I have left the door open to them. By leaving doors open, you never know you may want to walk through. If not, so be it.
